The latest use of one of my images in the advertising world, this time for Sigma lenses. See my photo at :23 - :28. Click read more below to get to the link. http://videos.sigmaphoto.com/video/47168830 Shot on my Nikon F3 on Kodak gold 800 asa film on lake Talquin in Tallahassee, FL. 90 minute exposure. The F3 is great for long exposure work because you can basically turn the camera off and use the manual mirror lockup mode to shoot multiple hour exposures without draining its little watch cell type battery. That's it for today, but this is the first in a series of posts about my recent work...

New website!

So you are probably wondering why the few previous blog posts on here are all from earlier this year despite a post date of today (August 14th). They are transfers from the old site (same actual web address). I didn't update that old blog or website much because it was very difficult to work with, and lacked a lot of needed functionality. “Inspiration Starts Here”, a TV commercial

2/20/2012: In January I shot a TV commercial for Fit Weight loss and more, entitled "Inspiration Starts Here." It was produced by Pea Green solutions and Infinit films. It was shot on the Panasonic Af-100, but not for the reasons you might think. We could have easily shot on RED or something else. However, I picked the Af-100 to turn its weakness (poor dynamic range) into an advantage. I wanted the highlights to blow out and bloom,...

Empty Sky poster

2/4/2012: Here is the poster (click read more to see). I shot it on my Nikon D3 & Nikkor 70-200/2.8 vr while on set. I made good use of the 9fps frame rate here, however that was not the original intention. We were shooting this with an incredibly tight deadline on set, right after shooting the wide. The sun was setting in minutes and we needed a bunch of frames for options. Forget strobes with that kind of time constraint. We went with natural light and a little bounce. The idea was to get one frame that really sold Samantha (played by the very talented Maiara Walsh) walking away from Taylor...
